Animed 100% Pure Methylsulfonylmethane Powder is a sulfur-rich supplement renowned for its joint support and anti-inflammatory properties. Recommended by veterinarians, it’s widely used for dogs, cats, horses, and other pets to promote healthy joints, tendons, ligaments, muscles, and overall mobility.

This powder supports the body’s natural inflammatory response, helping reduce discomfort and improve flexibility. It plays a key role in the production of collagen, glucosamine, and chondroitin—vital components for maintaining strong bones and connective tissues.

Beyond joint health, it contributes to a healthy immune system and supports the production of glutathione, a powerful antioxidant that protects cells from damage. It also promotes healthier skin and coats by providing bioavailable sulfur, an essential mineral for protein synthesis and tissue repair.

Commonly included in dog joint supplements, appropriate dosage varies depending on the animal’s size and needs, but regular supplementation ensures adequate amounts to support long-term joint function and comfort.

With its combination of joint support, anti-inflammatory benefits, and immune-boosting properties, this powder is a valuable addition to the health regimen of many pets.

Description

Animed MSM is pure dietary methylsulfonylmethane, a natural sulfur nutrient essential for both large and small animals. This ultra-pure form provides bioavailable sulfur, an important mineral found in all living organisms and the primary metabolite of DMSO (dimethylsulfoxide). When DMSO is absorbed by tissues, most of it is oxidized to methylsulfonylmethane. Equine and pet owners trust Animed for its quality and effectiveness, as veterinarians and horsemen widely recognize its benefits for equine health.

Research highlights the significance of methylsulfonylmethane as a dietary sulfur source. This sulfur contributes to the formation of protein-rich structures such as hair, horn, and connective tissues like collagen by supporting disulfide bonds essential for their proper shape. It also supplies sulfur for hormones and antibodies. Similar to vitamin B12, methionine, and DMG, it can act as a methyl donor.

Though naturally present in small amounts in most vegetables, fruits, and grains, this compound is easily lost during heat and water processing common in commercial pet foods and livestock feeds. Unless animals consume mostly raw, fresh grain or forage, their diets typically contain negligible levels.

Is this safe for human consumption? James P. asked on December 3, 2024

While this product is 100% pure MSM, it is in fact intended for use with animals. The method of packing this product isn't done with the same scrutiny as human grade MSM.

Seems to be helping. She has an issue with front paw due to over extension. I’m happy as I don’t want to give her drugs.

General (Dogs): Use 1/8 of a teaspoon (approximately .02 ounce) per 30lbs of body weight morning & evening for 6 days, then 1/8 of a teaspoon per 30lbs body weight per day.

General (Horses): Use 1 tablespoon (approximately .5 ounce) per 1000lbs body weight morning & evening for 6 days, then 1 tablespoon per day. Amount & frequency may be varied as necessary or as directed by a veterinarian.

The large end of the enclosed scoop measures one tablespoon (approximately 1/2 ounce), the small end measures one teaspoon (approximately 1/8 ounce).

Note: It is our recommendation for sudden or immediate pain issues to double the recommended MSM dose, as advised by the manufacturer, giving divided doses 3 times daily for maximum effectiveness for a week or two. Afterwards reduce the dose from 3 times daily to only 2 times daily. If pain relief is maintained, consider backing off the dose to once a day. If at any point in lowering the dose, inflammation or pain issues return, up the dose back to the previous dosage schedule. For temporary health issues, this helps to wean off the MSM, though there are many people, animals & pets who take MSM 365 days/year to maintain ease of mobility and maximum health benefits.

Signs of overdose are loose bowel movements, so like vitamin C, MSM can be dosed to bowel tolerance if desired.

Active Ingredient per 1 ounce: MSM (Methylsufonylmethane) 28,000 mg
