For puppy and dog do you just give the recommended dose that is listed on the bottle? Stephanie asked on March 16, 2025

Colostrum has a broad range of uses so for general maintenance you can certainly try to scale the daily amount given vs a person or use the standard dosing on the bottle certainly wont hurt. For use with recovery, immune support and the like you can radically increase the amount given at a time and frequency to really ramp up the healing process however.

Colostrum should only be avoided if an individual, whether human, feline or canine, has a true milk protein allergy. Notably, bovine colostrum contains relatively low lactose levels, around 2.5%, making it more tolerable for those with lactose sensitivity.

Colostrum, the first milk produced during pregnancy, can be expressed in the third trimester and is secreted in greater amounts after birth. Around 2 to 3 days postpartum, lactogenesis II begins, marking the transition from colostrum to transitional milk. This stage gradually leads to the production of mature milk, providing essential nutrients for the newborn’s development.

    Awesome product. saved my cat from leukemia. he’s addicted cause he knows it makes him feel better. upper resp. issues, too, but with colostrum, minimal symptoms now. after 2 years of using colostrum he’s the healthiest cat in the house

General: 1 teaspoon (1/3rd scoop) once daily on empty stomach with 8oz of water or as directed by a health care professional.

General (Athletes): 1 rounded scoop in protein drink, milk or water. May also be mixed with other foods or beverages. Take 30 to 45 minutes before exercise.

General (Children 6-12): 1/3rd teaspoon per 25lbs of body weight mixed with beverage, placed directly in the mouth or sprinkled on food.

General (Topical Use): Apply powder directly to cuts, abrasions or irritable skin conditions. Apply directly to gums in cases of sensitive teeth & mouth sores. Double maintenance dose when dealing with dis-ease.

General (Dogs & Cats): 1/3rd teaspoon per 25lbs of body weight mixed with beverage, placed directly in the mouth or sprinkled on food.

General (Horses): 2/3rd tsp per 250lbs of body weight.
