#3    Organic Vitamin & Mineral Supplements

Proper supplements help keep the body in balance. The following organic supplements can help nourish the body, brain, skin, etc. Probiotics and enzymes help digest and properly assimilate the food you are feeding and often make a huge difference in the health of your companions.

1. Icelandic Kelp Meal contains over 60 vitamins, minerals, and amino acids that is easy assimilated by the body. This helps detox, promote healthy skin and coat, and provides vital nutrients every body needs.
2. Food grade diatomaceous earth completely eliminates the need to give those horrible chemical (aka poison) wormers. If they have no intestinal worms or parasites, 70% of their chance of getting disease goes right out the window. Plus it contains over 15 minerals that are great for the skin, coat, bones, joints, etc. and helps promote excellent health. Worm free pets consume less food, as their are no worms sucking their blood and consuming the nutrients from their food, so it helps lessen your pet food bill. Plus DE is excellent for joint and bone health for young growing animals through those in the senior years.
3. The best source of probiotics & digestive enzymes come from raw sources of food, especially organ meats.  Green Tripe is a very good source these beneficial bacteria’s.  You can also supplement with yogurts & kefir.

#4 Chemical Flea & Tick Preventatives -NO!!!

1. Please do NOT put traditional chemical flea or tick preventatives on your dogs and cats. These so-called “flea and tick preventatives” are actual POISONS. Most people put poisons on weeds to kill them, so purposely putting a poison on our beloved animals is an absolutely insane notion. Optimal health cannot be achieved by poisoning our furry best friends. 2. Do NOT put poison heartworm preventatives in or on your dogs. Like the flea preventatives, these things are actual poisons that permeate the body for 30 to 60 days. These traditional preventatives do NOT “prevent” the mosquito from landing on your dog by making them smell nasty to mosquitoes, they just poison the blood, kidneys, liver, skin, and entire body, so when a mosquito bites them, it attempts to poison any infection the mosquito has left in the dog’s blood stream. Ever notice, the animals in the wild are not extinct from heartworm, west Nile virus, or other diseases? Heck, they aren’t on monthly Heartgard prevention. How is it possible the wild canine species: wolves, dingoes, foxes, coyotes, etc. are still alive and thriving? #6   Fresh Water

Be sure to change your pet’s water bowl daily. Plenty of clean pure fresh water is essential to pet health just as it is for people. Preferably do not give city tap water.

#7  The Great Outdoors

Make sure your pet gets plenty of good healthy exercise. Senior pet’s should be walking, running, and playing up until the day they die. For healthful longevity, daily exercise is essential for us and our pets, so make time to get both of you out for a daily walk.

#8  Aches & Pains of Aging

Sometimes older pets have mobility issues which hamper their comfortability and exercise levels. This can make their health decline more quickly. Some excellent natural alternatives to help alleviate arthritis, inflammation, aches, and pain are:

#10   Vaccinations

Most pets have been vaccinated regularly. If your pet has ever had a reaction to a vaccination, which is usually seen within a minute to 3 months after being vaccinated, check with your county to see if they will accept rabies titers in lieu of the rabies vaccine OR a health exemption letter from your veterinarian stating that the rabies vaccine is detrimental to the health of your pet. Dr. Jean Dodd’s is a veterinary immunologist currently working on the 7 Year Rabies Challenge Study.

Life Cell Support is excellent for pets who have had reactions to vaccines, as well as those who are going to be vaccinated or wormed. Give 3x/day for 30 days.

#11 Eyes, Ears, Nose & Throat!

If your senior pet has bad breath, teeth, plaque, or ear health issues, the following can be excellent:

1. Pet Vision is excellent for senior pet eye health. For those with a blue, white haze on their eyes, dry eyes, and pets with cataracts. Good for active cataracts with clearing of the eyes within 36 days and for preventative eye health maintenance.
2. Otaxium Ear Drops is an organic herbal formula designed to help rid pets of ear infections.

Paxaid is excellent to help reduce travel stress, calm, soothe the intestinal tract, help prevent vomiting, diarrhea, poor appetite, and boost the immune system. 2 to 4x/day is fine for this purpose.

Derma Nerv can be helpful for overactive animals to help calm, regenerate, and soothe the nerves. Beneficial to calm/lessen seizures as well.

Tossa K (formerly Kennel-Koff) can be given a day or two before the outing, along with the day(s) of the outing, and a few days afterwards to help prevent contraction of upper respiratory infections. Give twice/day for this purpose or 4x/day for 10 days for active upper respiratory infection.

Bentonite Clay is excellent to help counteract poisoning, such as salmonella and should be in every travel kit for people and pets.
