fluctuations. Reptaid helps with:
Upper respiratory functions
Eyes & mouth health Natural purification of foreign contaminates
Reptaid XL works to maintain a healthy immune system to keep your reptile in peak condition. For reptiles 250 grams or less, use Reptaid.
Reptaid XL has been formulated as an all purpose Anti-parasitic immune system treatment for reptiles. It is a blend of natural organic herbs which have been tested to assist reptiles in treatment for many parasites as well as bacterial infections and other debilitating ailments. It works in two ways. It serves to defeat the advance of parasites, bacteria and viruses, as well as boost the immune system of the animal so that its own immune system can function at full strength to conquer the troubling situation. For these reasons, uses for Reptaid are unlimited in the treatment of reptiles both in laboratory and home environments.
The primary sign of a reptile or amphibian suffering from coccidiosis or giardia is diarrhea. The diarrhea may be mild to severe depending on the level of infection. The diarrhea may be watery, very smelly, bloody, or contain mucus. Blood and mucous are present, especially in advanced cases. Severely affected reptiles may also vomit, lose their appetite, weight loss, become dehydrated, lethargic, and in some instances, die from the disease.
Most infected reptiles are in the four to twelve week age group. The possibility of coccidiosis should always be considered when a loose stool or diarrhea is encountered from this age group. A microscopic fecal exam by a veterinarian will detect the cysts confirming a diagnosis.
Traditional coccidia or giardia veterinary treatment consists of giving Albon (aka Sulfadimethoxine), Flagyl (aka Metronidazole), Marquis (Ponazuril), and/or bacitracin for 10 to 14 days. In some cases, numerous 10 to 14 day treatment cycles are needed. Like many other bacterial infections Giardia has developed resistance to many of drugs used to treat it. Since neither Albon, Flagyl, or Marquis actually kill coccidia or giardia protozoan, they are not always effective. Reptaid or Reptaid XL will eliminate these protozoan, even after numerous rounds of Albon and/or Flagyl have been unsuccessful.
Rid the body of microscopic parasites such as Coccidia and Giardia
Kill viruses, bacteria, and fungi
Soothe the digestive system
Rid the body of free radicals
Prevent coccidia or giardia if dosed preventatively

The dosing guidelines must be followed exactly as written. Reptaid is to be used ONLY for the care of reptiles. Under normal circumstances improvement in the reptile's health will be indicated by improved vitality, appetite, color, and attitude. Discontinue use if there is a noticeable decline in general health or any adverse symptoms occur. Overdose of this product can cause serious side effect to include: irritability, change in behavior, reduced consciousness, vomiting and subsequent dehydration, coma, or death. One must not exceed the daily recommended dose. It is important to weigh your reptile before administration of this product to obtain accurate daily dosing. Continuous use of Reptaid or Reptaid XL without appropriate scheduled interruption is to be avoided, as it is associated with clinically significant listlessness, diarrhea, and vomiting. As with any nutraceutical or pharmaceutical product, Reptaid may cause an allergic reaction that may manifest as potentially a serious condition. Any suggestion of allergic reaction, even the most subtle, should alert the reptile owner or veterinary health care provider to cease any further administration of Reptaid and to assess for interventional measures for such a reaction. One should have all of the appropriate emergency contact information readily available before starting this or any nutraceutical, pharmaceutical, or nutritional supplement. It is recommended that the pet owner, the novice in particular, discuss the use and side effect profile of this and any product with his or her veterinary health care provider. Co-administration of Reptaid with other agents must be done with caution. Co-administration with pharmaceutical antibiotics is considered safe in most instances with rare exception. One known exception is the co-administration of Reptaid with the antibiotic Baytril, which may have caused an adverse reaction of clinical significance. Therefore, this product should be given with caution when receiving prescribed antibiotics. Overdose of this product in a gravid (pregnant) reptile statistically increases the risk of miscarriage. Evidence of liver disease is a relative contraindication due to the presence of ethyl alcohol in this product (alcohol may be evaporated out of the Reptaid for safer use if your reptile has liver disease). This product should not be used with any medication that suppresses the immune system. All benefits and risks of this product should be weighed appropriately before use.
Amber Glass Bottles ~ If you have more than one pet that you are treating, you might want to consider purchasing one or more amber glass 1/2 oz., 1 oz., or 4 oz. dropper bottles, so you can split up the tincture into a smaller bottle. That way there is less chance of product contamination.
In addition, when treating more than one pet, it may be necessary to assure sterile administration without carry over from pet to pet. This is very important when using Paxxin to treat some pups and using as a preventative for others. The best way to assure this is to use the dropper only to transfer product to an individual sterile oral syringe, using a different syringe for each pet. (This method will also reduce the chances of product contamination.) Those syringes should be sterilized after each use. Each pet should have its own syringe that is not shared with another pet.
The use of a syringe containing measured drops from the dropper will also remove the risk of the animal biting the glass dropper.
These are terrific for storing dried herbs, tinctures, colloidal silver, etc. All are boston rounds and have black plastic phenolic lids, unless noted. The misters are fabulous and deliver a very light and delicate mist. Excellent for misting the face or for animals who are shy of sprayers. The cute little 1/2 oz. droppers are perfect for splitting 1 oz. tincture bottles into two separate bottles.
Syringes ~ these are luer slip syringes without needles that are excellent for administering measured amounts of Paxxin, CS, tinctures, etc. Reinforced tip, large finger grips, smooth draw and easy-to-read graduations. Rubber plunger with double contact for a positive seal and effortless injection. FDA approved and autoclavable.
If purchasing for use with Paxxin (aka Parvaid), syringe size needed is based on the weight of the puppy. We suggest two syringes, one for oral doses and one for enema doses (if not being given Sub Q fluids or on IV's, enemas are or may be necessary to prevent dehydration). Make sure to mark the enema syringe clearly, as you never want to accidentally use an enema syringe for an oral dose, even after it's been washed, as you can re-infect a puppy with parvo.
Puppies/kittens weighing under 3 pounds need 5 to 6 ml syringes. Animals weighing 3-10 pounds need 12 ml syringes. Puppies weighing 11-20 pounds need 20 ml syringes. Puppies weighing 21-40 pounds need 50 ml syringes. Puppies 41-50 pounds need 60 ml syringes.
